Overall Job Purpose :
Responsible for leading and managing advanced data analysis efforts to support strategic decision making within an organisation. Designing complex models, working closely with different stakeholders to translate business challenges into data driven solutions.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead the design and execution of data analysis projects across SAP and non-SAP systems.
- Extract, transform, and analyse data from SAP modules (e.g., FI/CO, MM, SD) and external sources (e.g., SQL, Excel, APIs).
- Collaborate with business stakeholders and cross-functional teams to define KPIs, reporting requirements, and data strategies.
- Translate business questions into analytical frameworks and deliver actionable recommendations.
- Conduct root cause analysis to improve business performance.
- Ensure data quality, governance, and compliance across all data sources by enforcing best practices and protocols.
- Support data integration and migration projects between SAP and non-SAP platforms.
- Develop, automate, and maintain advanced dashboards and reports using tools like Power BI, Tableau, or similar.
- Perform data extraction, transformation, and complex querying on large datasets.
- Use advanced statistical and data mining techniques to identify trends, patterns, anomalies, and predictive insights.
- Provide technical expertise in data storage structures, mining, cleaning, and normalization.
- Champion continuous improvement opportunities in BI processes and data practices.
- Stay current with emerging data technologies, industry trends, tools, and techniques.
- Provide training and support management on interpreting and utilising data reports and dashboards.
- Lead data analysis projects from scoping through delivery.
- Gather stakeholder input to ensure data solutions meet business needs.
- Translate complex analyses into clear, actionable insights.

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
- Grade 12; and
- A minimum qualification of a bachelor’s degree (NQF level 7) in Computer Science / Information and Communication Technology (ICT).
- Master’s degree in data science, Computer Science, BCom Information Technology.
- Data Analysis Certification (e.g., SAP Analytics Cloud, Power BI, Tableau).
KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
- 10 years of experience in data analysis or business intelligence, significant exposure to both SAP and non-SAP environments with Strong expertise in SAP tools (SAP HANA, SAP BW/4HANA, SAP S/4HANA, SAP Fiori, SAP BI.).
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud),
- Familiarity with machine learning concepts and tools.
- Experience working with ETL processes and data pipelines.
- Expert-level proficiency in SQL and experience working with large datasets.
- Strong knowledge of data visualisation tools (e.g., Power BI).
- Proficiency in at least one scripting language such as Python.
- Strong understanding of statistical methods, hypothesis testing, and forecasting techniques.
- Advanced SQL skills and experience with relational databases (e.g., SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Oracle).
- Proficiency in data visualisation tools
- Experience with Excel (Power Query, PivotTables, VBA is a plus).
- Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, R) for data manipulation and automation.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS, Google Cloud) and data lakes.
- Knowledge of data governance, master data management, and data warehousing.
- Experience working in Agile or hybrid project environments.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
