Overall Job Purpose             :    

To provide strategic leadership in managing the organisation’s financial assets, ensuring liquidity, optimising cash flow, and mitigating financial risks. This role oversees treasury operations, banking relationships, investment strategies, and compliance while leading a team of senior treasury professionals. This position plays a critical role in maintaining financial stability, ensuring sufficient liquidity for operational continuity, and optimising organisation’s investments.                      

 

 

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Establishing and overseeing enterprise-wide liquidity management strategies to ensure optimal cash flow and fund utilisation.
  • Driving high-level banking and investment strategies by securing favourable financial agreements and optimising institutional partnerships.
  • Defining and enforcing financial risk management frameworks to mitigate exposure to currency fluctuations, interest rates, and credit risks.
  • Developing and implementing treasury policies to ensure compliance with corporate governance, regulatory mandates, and financial best practices.
  • Ensuring treasury operations align with corporate governance and regulatory mandates to maintain compliance with financial laws and industry standards.
  • Delivering high quality financial reports, forecasts, and strategic insights to enable data-driven decision-making at the highest levels.
  • Providing leadership to Banking and Cashflow Management function, fostering alignment with corporate financial goals and ensuring strategic execution.

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

 

  • Grade 12; and
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or equivalent.
  • Professional certifications such as Certified Treasury Professional (CTP), Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) will be an added advantage.

 

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE

 

  • Minimum of 10 years experience in cash flow management, treasury operations, or corporate banking.
  • Proven track record in liquidity management, financial forecasting, and banking negotiations.
  • Experience working with financial institutions, corporate treasury teams, and regulatory compliance.
  • Understanding of Cash Flow Forecasting & Liquidity Management.
  • Understanding of Banking & Treasury Operations.
  • Managing corporate banking transactions, including payments, fund transfers, and reconciliations.
  • Understanding of foreign exchange transactions, ensuring regulatory compliance and efficiency.
  • A strong understanding of financial principles, market dynamics, regulatory frameworks, and public finance laws.
  • Understanding of liquidity management.
  • Proficiency in investment strategies and financial instruments.
  • Understanding of market fluctuations and mitigating financial risks.
  • Proficiency in PFMA regulatory compliance, PFMA, and other financial regulation.
