Reporting Line : Manager: ICT
Overall Job Purpose : Responsible for implementing, monitoring and maintaining the security of the CGS ICT system and infrastructure.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensuring network security access and protecting against unauthorised access.
- Administer and manage security tools and technologies, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), and endpoint protection solutions.
- Monitor and analyses security logs and alerts to detect and respond to potential security incidents.
- Implement and manage identity and access management (IAM) systems, including user provisioning and de-provisioning for Office 365, Azure environments and on-premises solutions.
- Performing risk assessments, audits, staff training sessions, and monitoring network activity.
- Installing, administering and troubleshooting an organisation’s security solutions.
- Writing up security policies and training documents about security procedures.
- Monitoring systems, networks, Wi-Fi applications and more.
- Developing new security protocols.
- Identifying system and network vulnerabilities.
- Generate regular security reports for management and compliance audits.

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
- Grade 12; and
- National Diploma (NQF level 6) in Computer Science / Information and Communication Technology (ICT).
- Relevant Cybersecurity, or a related field certification (ISO27001, CompTIA Security+/ CISSP, CISM).
KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
- 3 to 5 years of experience in cybersecurity or IT security administration.
- Minimum of at least 3 years of Cybersecurity experience (i.e. planning, designing and execution) (minimum of 3 years cybersecurity program execution is a must).
- Minimum of at least 1 years’ experience with firewalls and hold the relevant vendor certification (i.e. FortiGate Next Generation) (this is a must have).
- Experience with SIEM tools, firewalls, VPNs, and endpoint protection.
- Familiarity with cloud security (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
