Overall Job Purpose             :    

Responsible for collecting, processing and analysing data to help an organisation make an informed decision.  Interpreting large datasets, identifying trends and patterns.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Extract and manipulate data from SAP systems using tools such as SAP HANA Studio, SAP BW, or SAP Fiori.
  • Analyse data to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies that support business decisions.
  • Collaborate with business units to understand data needs and translate them into technical requirements.
  • Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity across SAP modules.
  • Perform root cause analysis on data issues and recommend solutions.
  • Support data migration, integration, and transformation projects.
  • Document data models, processes, and reporting standards.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards and reports using tools like SAP Analytics Cloud, Power BI, Tableau, or Excel.
  • Ensure data quality, consistency, and integrity across multiple platforms.
  • Support data integration projects between SAP and non-SAP systems.
  • Document data models, data flows, and reporting standards.
  • Provide ad hoc analysis and support for business initiatives and audits.
  • Collect, clean, and validate data from multiple internal and external sources.
  • Analyse large datasets to identify trends, patterns, and insights that support strategic and operational decision-making.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and deliver data-driven solutions.
  • Monitor data quality and integrity and assist in the development of data governance practices.
  • Create and maintain documentation for data definitions, sources, and methodologies.
  • Support predictive analytics and modelling efforts when needed.
  • Present analytical findings and recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences.

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

 

  • Grade 12; and
  • A minimum qualification of a bachelor’s degree (NQF level 7) in Computer Science / Information and Communication Technology (ICT).
  • Data Analysis certification e.g. SAP Analytics Cloud, Power BI, Tableau, QlikView.

 

 

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE

 

  • 5 years of experience in data analysis, with exposure to both SAP and non-SAP systems.
  • Experience with data visualisation tools (e.g., SAP Analytics Cloud, Power BI, Tableau, , QlikView).
  • Proficiency in SAP tools such as SAP HANA, SAP BW/4HANA, SAP S/4HANA, or SAP Fiori.
  • Proven experience as a Data Analyst or in a similar analytical role.
  • Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, formulas, charts).
  • Knowledge of Python, R, or similar tools is an advantage.
  • Experience with cloud data platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
  • Familiarity with ETL processes and data warehousing.
  • Knowledge of machine learning.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Strong SQL skills and experience with relational databases (e.g., MySQL, SQL Server, PostgreSQL).
