| Overall Job Purpose | : The Cleaner Supervisor is responsible for supervising cleaning and gardening staff, coordinating daily cleaning activities, inspecting work areas, managing cleaning and gardening supplies, personal protective equipment and ensuring a safe and sanitary environment for employees, customers and visitors. Furthermore, ensuring that cleaning and hygiene standards within the organisation premises and yards are maintained to the highest level. |
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Monitor staff attendance and performance.
- Plan, allocate and supervise daily cleaning tasks.
- Adjust and supervise cleaning schedules and ensure that they are followed by staff.
- Supervise daily activities of staff to ensure cleanliness and maintenance of hygiene standards.
- Supervise gardening/landscape staff to ensure that outdoor areas and yards are well maintained.
- Respond to cleaning, hygiene and gardening complaints.
- Report any maintenance issues to maintenance section.
- Keep and maintain records.
- Conduct inspections and periodic audits and implement corrective action.
- Maintain high cleanliness and orderliness across all areas.
- Train cleaning staff on proper cleaning methods, use of equipment, and safety procedures.
- Promote teamwork and continuous improvement.
- Initiate consumables reservations and monitor inventory levels for hygiene and gardening consumables.
- Ensure that hygiene and gardening tools are adequate and are maintained.
- Ensure that staff follow safe work procedures and use personal protection.
- Support adherence to workplace health and safety regulations and their maintenance thereof in line with OHSA and Regulations for facilities and workplaces.

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
- Grade 12;
- Diploma in Facilities Management or Diploma in Business/Office Administration will be an added advantage
KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of 3 years relevant experience.
- Valid Driver’s license.
- Basic knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations.
- Computer Literacy will be and added advantage.
- Supervisory skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Cleaning and Housekeeping skills.
- Basic Reporting Writing skills.
